Windflowers — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

Windflowers — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

4 ounces of hand-dyed wool roving in Windflowers, inspired by Windflowers by John William Waterhouse.

This colorway draws from the quiet symbolism and emotional restraint of Waterhouse’s painting, where anemone flowers—long associated with fragility, transience, and loss—become a meditation on impermanence. The palette reflects that mood with soft neutrals, muted florals, and atmospheric undertones that flow gently along the braid.

Dyed in small batches, Windflowers translates stillness and subtle movement into fiber. Layered color shifts create visual depth without harsh contrast, allowing the roving to draft smoothly while preserving expressive variation in the finished yarn.
