Inspired by Venus and Cupid by Evelyn De Morgan, this colorway captures the quiet drama and luminous, unexpected palette of De Morgan’s mythological painting.

Soft blush, antique rose, warm coral, and creamy gold are drawn from Venus’s flowing robes, while the extraordinary wings of Cupid bring the colorway into deeper territory.

The real magic happens in the shadowed feathers closest to Cupid’s body. Olive and Shore Thing—one of Dharma’s wonderfully murky, unpredictable dyes—are allowed to break and separate across the yarn, creating layers of deep blue-green, smoky teal, moss, olive, and muted gold. Rather than mixing those colors individually, the dyes create that complex feathered palette organically, echoing the shifting color in De Morgan’s painted wings.

The result is romantic, earthy, and wonderfully moody, with moments of unexpected color appearing as the skein moves.
