Le Guin’s work challenges fixed ideas of identity, gender, and power, asking readers to sit in uncertainty rather than resolve it too quickly. Long challenged for its themes, The Left Hand of Darkness remains a cornerstone of speculative fiction precisely because it refuses simplicity.
