Sea Slug — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

Sea Slug — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

4 ounces of hand-dyed wool roving in Sea Slug, a bold, neon-saturated colorway from my Luminous Sea series, originally released as part of my 2023 Advent.

Inspired by the electric, otherworldly beauty of sea slugs, this colorway explodes with high-energy brights and unexpected contrast. Acid greens, vibrant pinks, and luminous blues flow dynamically along the braid, creating a palette that feels alive and constantly in motion.

Dyed with UV-reactive pigments, Sea Slug transforms under blacklight — select colors ignite and glow, revealing an intensified neon effect that goes far beyond subtle highlights. Under normal light it’s playful and vivid; under UV it becomes something entirely different.

Color placement is designed to move with the fiber, allowing shifts and transitions to reveal themselves as the roving is spun, felted, or woven. Each braid is a one-of-a-kind expression of light, movement, and underwater energy.
