Inspired by the female Rufous Hummingbird, this colorway captures the softer, beautifully complex palette of her plumage. Dusty lavender and warm taupe mingle with creamy neutrals, touches of rufous peach and rust, flashes of golden yellow, and soft green.

Unlike the fiery brilliance of the male, the female Rufous Hummingbird wears her color in layers—iridescent green across her back, warm rufous along her sides and tail, and delicate, muted tones across her breast. Rufous Hummingbird — Female translates those shifting colors into a softly variegated yarn, with scattered speckles adding another layer of movement and texture.

Originally created as an exclusive for Stitch Yarn Studio in Covington, Kentucky, this colorway is part of Laughing Cat Fibers’ bird-inspired collection.

Hand dyed in small batches by Laughing Cat Fibers. Because each skein is individually dyed, slight variations between skeins are part of the beauty of hand-dyed yarn.
