Inspired by Psyche Entering Cupid’s Garden by John William Waterhouse, this colorway is a romantic study in softness, symbolism, and layered storytelling.

Waterhouse’s painting captures Psyche at the threshold of transformation — surrounded by flowering abundance, caught between innocence and awakening. The scene is lush without being loud, intimate without being fragile. That balance guided every step of the dye process.

Blush pinks and antique rose tones form the heart of the palette, softened by pale florals and quiet greens that echo the garden itself. Gentle teals and botanical shadows move through the skein, creating depth without overwhelming the composition. The colorway is intentionally layered rather than high-contrast, allowing the fabric to bloom slowly as stitches accumulate.
