Los Cactus — Frida Kahlo Series

Inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo, Los Cactus is an art-inspired colorway rooted in resilience, texture, and quiet strength.

Cacti appear again and again in Kahlo’s imagery — symbols of survival, endurance, and beauty shaped by harsh landscapes. They are structured yet organic, thorned yet alive. That duality guided both the palette and the dye process for this colorway.

Layered greens form the foundation of the skein, ranging from deep cactus shadow to sunlit sage, punctuated by earthy undertones and subtle contrasts. A multi-speckling technique adds depth and surface interest, creating a fabric that feels dimensional and alive rather than flat or uniform.

This is a texture-forward colorway. As stitches build, the speckling and tonal shifts reveal complexity and movement, making Los Cactus especially well-suited to garments, textured stitches, and projects where the yarn itself carries visual weight.
