Flor de Selva — Frida Kahlo Series

Inspired by the life and work of Frida Kahlo, Flor de Selva draws directly from the visual language that surrounded her — resilient, vibrant, and unapologetically alive.

Cactus imagery appears again and again in Frida’s world: living forms shaped by endurance, protection, and survival in harsh landscapes. They are symbols of strength, persistence, and beauty that does not soften itself for comfort. That symbolism is at the heart of this colorway.

Los Cactus is created using a layered multi-speckling technique, allowing color to build texture rather than flatten it. Soft desert greens, muted sage, thorny olive, pale sky tones, and flashes of floral pink and yellow move across the skein with organic irregularity. The result is a fabric that feels alive — complex, tactile, and deeply dimensional.

As the yarn is worked, color reveals itself slowly, rewarding projects that allow space for movement and texture. This is a palette designed to echo Frida’s world: rooted in nature, shaped by resilience, and unmistakably expressive.
