Étretat — Claude Monet Series

Inspired by the coastal paintings of Claude Monet, Étretat is the second colorway in my Artist Series — a collection rooted in place, atmosphere, and painterly translation.

Cool sea-teal tones move through stone-soft grays and weathered neutrals, punctuated by warm peach and blush notes that echo reflected light along the horizon. The palette is intentionally restrained, allowing contrast to emerge quietly rather than loudly — much like Monet’s brushwork, where color relationships do the work.

The Kitty Invisibility Cloak pairs a sweeping garter-stitch section with a contrasting lace panel, making it an ideal canvas for combining a variegated colorway with a tonal. The pattern uses one skein of each color and joins the two sections as you knit.

This Laughing Cat Fibers sample was knit by Laura using Étretat, inspired by Claude Monet’s paintings of the dramatic cliffs and sea at Étretat, paired with the Riverbed tonal. Étretat carries the shifting turquoise water, warm reflected light, and weathered stone through the garter stitch, while Riverbed gives the lace section a quiet, earthy contrast.

Please allow 4–6 weeks for dye-to-order yarns, especially during peak seasons. Each skein is carefully dyed, set, and finished by hand to ensure balance, depth, and consistency.
