Étretat — Claude Monet Series

Inspired by the coastal paintings of Claude Monet, Étretat is the second colorway in my Artist Series — a collection rooted in place, atmosphere, and painterly translation.

Étretat is a small commune along the northern coast of France, a landscape Monet returned to repeatedly. Rather than documenting the cliffs and sea exactly as they were, he painted the experience of the place — shifting light, moving water, and sky in constant transition.

That philosophy guides this colorway.

Cool sea-teal tones move through stone-soft grays and weathered neutrals, punctuated by warm peach and blush notes that echo reflected light along the horizon. The palette is intentionally restrained, allowing contrast to emerge quietly rather than loudly — much like Monet’s brushwork, where color relationships do the work.

This is not a high-contrast yarn. It is layered, balanced, and atmospheric. As fabric grows, the colorway reveals movement and depth, rewarding slow making and thoughtful stitch patterns.
