Circe — John William Waterhouse Series

Circe is inspired by Circe Invidiosa by John William Waterhouse — a painting steeped in myth, jealousy, and calculated vengeance. In this moment, Circe is not casting a spell in secret; she is poisoning the river itself, ensuring that her rival will drink destruction without ever seeing it coming.

That act of quiet violence drives this colorway.

Deep, shadowed teals and stormy blue-greens form the base — dark, controlled, and deliberate. Through them run flashes of vivid, toxic green: sharp, unnatural, and impossible to ignore. In normal light, that green reads as tension. Under blacklight, it ignites, glowing with an intensity that feels dangerous rather than decorative.

The contrast is intentional. Beauty and threat occupy the same space, just as they do in the painting. As the fabric grows, the glowing green emerges unevenly, cutting through darker tones like contamination spreading through water — a slow, inevitable transformation.
